By Kim Victoria & Lynn Tosello “I Want,” “I Need,” “I Desire,” “I Wish” What words do you commonly use to describe your hopes, aspirations and dreams? How do your words affect your emotions? How might you be more accurate and transformative in stating what you feel would be a life improvement? Notice how carefully we crafted those questions? Words can be powerful or unimportant depending on how much emotional thrust you feel when you think or say them. Every thought you have is a creative thought! "I want"Want is one of the trickiest words in the English language because it carries both a positive and negative message at the same time. Positive meaning: wish, desire, hope, aspire, like Oppressive meaning: should, ought, need, must, demand Negative meaning: lack, be without, be missing, don’t have, deficiency, shortage, scarcity, deficit, poverty How do you feel as you read those different meanings? Interesting isn’t it. When you use the word want you probably feel a mixed message - you want something because you don’t have it, so you keep on wanting it and you keep on not having it. You say, ”But I really want it,” without realizing you are emotionally feeling lack rather than positive anticipation. It is your feeling of lack that produces more lack. "I need"When you truly desire manifestation of your goals, avoid the word need at all times. Need is about desperation, hardship, deprivation, poverty, distress, or demands. We do have basic human needs, but using the word need carries the emotional message that you don’t have something and, therefore, you will never get it. Want and need both carry the powerful emotion of not-having. How do you manifest what you don't have when you know you want and/or need it?Everything that exists started out as a thought propelled by an intention or a feeling. The feelings you have about your thoughts help them to come true, and the words you use help to create your feelings; they go hand-in-hand. Law of Attraction operates through your feelings, so make sure your thoughts create good ones. Be careful with your words. Pay attention to what you think and say about the things you’d like to have exist in your life. Do your best to stop using the words want or need. Write about the things you desire in ways that help you feel really good about them, then read what you’ve written as practice to reprogram your thinking process. Here are a few useful words to get you started:desire, wish, eager, enthusiastic, passionate, aspire to, wholehearted, great, devoted, excellent, earnest, get-up-and-go, interested, prefer, fancy, willing, committed, keen, motivated, dedicated, like, love Use them any way that feels good to you, and notice where you might normally have said the words want or need. The examples, below, can help you get the "hang" of it, but we encourage you to write your own statements that are exactly right for you. I am enthusiastic about receiving a new car. I am excited to get a job that is perfect for me. I prefer to have Chinese food for dinner tonight. A larger paycheck feels really good. It is nice to be able to buy a better house. I am creating a better relationship with my kids. I fancy a new pair of jeans. I’m willing to go the extra mile to make that happen. It’s fun to think about the future this way. I love receiving __________. How did that exercise feel?Notice how you feel when you change your words from want and need to these differently focused statements. It takes practice to shift your thinking in this way, and well worth it. The more attention you give to changing the emotional energy of your words, the faster you will see results in the manifestation. Your thoughts will have more power of creation when you feel positive about those thoughts. Trust the process and open yourself to receive your desires. Would you like some personal training in developing better feeling thoughts?
